It is the responsibility of each educator to maintain his or her certification. Failure to maintain certification can affect employment eligibility.

In order to begin the process of renewing your certificate, please download the Sumter School District Annual Professional Growth Log found on this page. The PRODEV system is no longer used in the certificate renewal process. The Certificate Renewal Form must be completed by the educator and submitted to the principal or supervisor for approval. You can access the form as well as the Certificate Renewal Matrix by clicking on the images provided below:

After completing the Sumter School District Annual Professional Growth Log, print the form, attach your supporting documentation for the activities listed in your log, and submit all documents to your designated administrator. The administrator will review and verify your documentation. Both the educator and administrator will sign and date the form in the space designated. Send the original copy of the signed and completed Annual Professional Growth Log and supporting documentation to the Office of Human Resources, ATTN: Ms. Frances Keller. The PRODEV system is no longer being used to upload your certificate renewal documentation. Your building administrators will verify your documentation at the school level.
